Kresimir Kusic takes C2 podium for Starsky at Leinster Road Race Championships

Starsky Cycling Club had a strong day at the Cycling Leinster Road Race Championships, held on Sunday, 30 August 2026 in Clonard, Co. Meath. The provincial championships were organised by Clonard Road Club and featured two 75 km races on a fast 12.5 km circuit. The men’s event was run as a handicap race for C1, C2, C3 and junior riders, creating a competitive field and a demanding championship atmosphere. Starsky Cycling Club was represented in the men’s race across C2 and C3, with the Club also receiving its traditional organisational and logistical support from club president Kazik, including service car support on the day. The race was aggressive from the start, with repeated attacks, a restart after an early stoppage, and a late breakaway brought back in the closing kilometres. The overall victory went to junior rider George Sevastopulo of Sundrive Track Team after a strong late attack. For Starsky Cycling Club, the headline result came in the C2 category, where Kresimir Kusic delivered an excellent performance to finish 3rd. Championship racing demands strength, positioning, patience and the ability to stay focused when the pace changes. A C2 podium at Leinster level is a strong sign of form and race composure.
